Ashley Slanina-Davies is curretly playing troubled teenager Amy Barnes in Manchester-based soap Hollyoaks. You can catch the show on Channel 4 at 6:30pm on weekdays, with the next episodes shown on E4 on weekdays at 7pm, and the omnibus at around 9am every Sunday. Check your TV guide, as times may vary.

Becoming a fanI started watching Hollyoaks again around about September 2006, after not watching it at all for several years. When I first saw Amy Barnes' character on screen for the first time, I absolutely hated her to be honest! However, I thought the actress was perfect and her acting was great. I began to watch Hollyoaks again because of Amy, I was interested in her right away.
Starting a fan siteAfter watching Hollyoaks for some time and seeing Amy's character a lot, I found out her real name was Ashley Slanina-Davies. I had been watching Hollyoaks for several months, and I had watched Ashley act out Amy joyriding, being pregnant, falling in love with Josh, causing trouble, and more. I was impressed with Ashley's acting, and it was her that kept me watching. I looked her up online, and found out that she had no fan site. Around June 2007, I decided it was time for her to have one, as she truly deserved one - and I would be the one to create the site.Another reason I had a lot of respect for Ashley is because she hasn't done any of those almost nude and skimpy photo shoots that celebrities often do, and she doesn't cake herself in make up or try too hard. I like that she keeps her clothes on and can just be herself, and she's a generally caring person.
Choosing a nameI needed to start by choosing a name for the site. My first choice was Natural Beauty, because Ashley Slanina-Davies really is naturally beautiful. I wanted to use her name in the site title though, to make it easier for fans to find. I thought of Ashley Slanina-Davies Online, but that was too long, so it simply became Ashley Online. | |||
